Barley Bree is a delightful venue for anniversaries, birthdays, retirements and intimate weddings. The restaurant seats up to 50 and Fabrice can create a one-off menu to suit the party. Alison is on hand to help chose the wines and open the champagne.

The service was assured and confident, the bill of fare exactly as specified – and Fabrice’s cullen skink was a triumph. Every detail had been discussed beforehand, from the flowers to the canapes, the wines, coffee and liqueurs. The atmospheric room was adapted for a party of 24, all of whom felt valued and ‘at home’, particularly those who stayed overnight and enjoyed a delicious breakfast.”

We booked the Barley Bree for my mother’s 70th birthday lunch. We were given exclusive use of the living room and all our needs catered for in terms of welcome drinks, cake cutting, vegetarian diets etc! We were a large group with children of various ages and the service could not have been better. The food was absolutely excellent as well and we all had a very enjoyable, happy and relaxed time.

“We are passionate about good food and wanted our wedding guests to enjoy a fantastic eating experience with us on our special day. The generic hotel wedding breakfast was not for us. Fabrice and Alison were more than accommodating to all of our needs. Menu discussions were interesting and enjoyable and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting.
On the day we enjoyed smoked salmon mousse followed by Fabrice’s stunning featherblade of beef with gratin dauphinnoise. Vegetarians were enchanted with a pea, mint and cucumber gazpacho followed by goat’s cheese tart. Elderflower jelly with summer fruits, rosemary shortbread and vanilla cream wrapped things up.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Barley Bree for a small wedding. The entire experience was magical and our choice of venue made our day. Our friends are still talking about the food three years later.”
