Perthshire is full of botanical treasures, with many fine gardens open to the public. Autumn also brings an influx of “leaf peepers”, visitors who come specifically to see the trees changing colour.

Drummond Castle Gardens, on the road from Muthill to Crieff, is a must-visit: a grand formal garden with impressive views. The castle is not open to the public, the gardens are open from May 1 – October 31.
